A Crowd Electric

Biography

A Crowd Electric is an electro pop band based in Brooklyn, NY and Poughkeepsie, NY. Founding members include David Crabb and Sparrow Hall. Their original songs, remixes, and celebrity collaborations have received critical praise from music writers in the US and the UK, including EQArjan WritesTape Recorder, and Hard Candy.

The A Crowd Electric remix of Madonna’s “Miles Away” brought the band international notoriety, and their remix of Britney Spears’ “Circus” was selected by Spears to be featured on her official website.

The band’s original song "Don't Touch Me (When I'm Dancing)” was featured in the 2010 transmedia storytelling collection Nightwork by Sparrow Hall. Created as a response to the record album "Night Work" by the Scissor Sisters, the Nightwork collection returns to the album's world of disco lights and transient encounters to tell new facets of the album's story through literature, music and art.

The band’s original song "The Waiter” was featured as part of Two Blue Wolves, Sparrow Hall's 2009 transmedia storytelling debut. This innovative hybrid of soundtrack, video, and short story also featured original compositions by members of Stellastarr, The Hourly Radio, Elefant and ArpLine, with proceeds going to Alzheimer’s Disease research and caregiver support.

A Crowd Electric’s song “Secret Kiss” was featured in the critically acclaimed 2009 film Goodbye Solo by Rahmin Bahrani (Man Push CartChop Shop).

The band recently co-wrote and produced the song “Clothes Off” for British hip hop artist Master Shortie, and are currently collaborating with Texas-based electronic artist Mr.Kitty.

A Crowd Electric released their critically-acclaimed debut EP, Reckless on June 8, 2010, featuring collaborations with Mr.Kitty, Edgar Oliver and Capitol Studios producer Mark Stone.
