I just taped my first radio interview for Two Blue Wolves with Project Health Radio. We talked about why we (the collaborators) got involved in Two Blue Wolves, why it's so important for younger generations to understand the disease, and a bit about my own personal experience as an Alzheimer's caregiver. Hopefully, I'll be able to post a podcast when it airs.

Groundbreaking Multimedia Collaboration Reinvents Short Story to Help Fight Alzheimer’s Disease

New York, NY – October 20, 2009 – Every 70 seconds, someone develops Alzheimer’s disease. How will the next generation of caregivers begin to understand this often overwhelming disease and its implications? Sparrow Hall, American author, artist and producer, today announced the publication of Two Blue Wolves, a first-of-its-kind short story experience told across a wide range of multimedia platforms by a coterie of artists designed to raise awareness and funding for Alzheimer’s disease.

“We’re proud to present Two Blue Wolves, a digital collection that invites readers to connect to the story through text, music, motion pictures and art,” says Sparrow Hall, creator of Two Blue Wolves and its innovative digital publishing platform. “Alzheimer’s plays a central role in the story and the collection’s interpretations, and underscores how isolating the disease can be for sufferers and their caregivers. Two Blue Wolves offers the opportunity for readers to relate to the story through whichever platform they find most resonant.”

Featuring original compositions and works by members of Stellastarr*, The Hourly Radio, Elefant, A Crowd Electric, ArpLine, Kago, Ana Lola Roman and more, Two Blue Wolves is available as a downloadable digital collection that includes an e-book, audio book, original soundtrack, music video and artwork. The collection may be purchased at www.sparrowhall.com for $16.95, with 15% of every sale donated to the Alzheimer’s Association to support research efforts and caregiver initiatives.

The Good Things About America: Book Tour

Celebrating the release of the anthology The Good Things About America, published by Write Bloody. Sparrow Hall will be reading his short story "Winter Bunker" with co-author Paul G. Maziar at Bowery Poetry Club in New York City. They will be joined by a host of other area writers reading from their work.

The book's foreword reads: "The Good Things About America is a book that, above all else, celebrates the enduring awesomeness of the United States of America. This is not meant to sound glib, ironic, or superior. Rather, what we imply is that despite every blind, deaf, and dumb thing America has done in its long and strange history - every misstep, unpunished crime, and lingering bias - there is still something honest, beautiful and hopeful about who we are as a country and as a people. This book serves as a historical document that uses poetry and prose to explore some of the visions for change, the modern glory, albeit broken or majestic, of this unbeatable rising landscape.
